Problem Idling when Clutch...

Hey Guys,

Haven't posted anything here in a while, just a looker. So if anyone can help me, it's you guys.

So I had this problem start about a month ago. I was driving and i noticed that the car would drop idle when i would press the clutch in(only when the engine is in operating temp). I thought it was a master cylinder issue but when i looked at the engine bay, i found out that the MAP sensor on top of the Intake manifold had broke. I took it to a Roberson Honda Service Center next to where i originally bought the car. The service guy said it was the battery so i left the car there for an inspection and when i picked the car up, they told me that it was indeed the battery and that they cleaned the throttle body (They didn't replace the MAP sensor because the check engine light wasn't on) Bulls**t! I drove the car away, about 10 minutes of driving, the same problem occurred.

3 days later, i took it to Miller Honda, they said it was the MAP sensor and my clutch master cylinder was out. They swapped both parts, and I just picked up the car. On the way home it stalled again in the middle of the street and i couldnt start it back up.

Please help me figure this out. I still have the extended Honda Care warranty so I would rather have the dealer fix it rather then take it to a mechanic.

Thanks as always, you guys are great.

Are you on a stock clutch? Your symptoms match that of a bad thrust washer (and I certainly hope it's not the case!)

Second that...sounds like thrust washers to me also. They control the front to rear play of the crank. If you remove the airbox you can "wiggle" the crank by grabbing the pulley...there should be basically zero movement...if you can wiggle the crank pulley front to back at all by hand you likely have problems.

Is it the thrust bearing on the flywheel end of the drive shaft or both? If it is the bearing, do you think/know that the warranty will cover it?

I'll ask again, is your clutch stock?

The thrust washer is at the front of the crank. #10 in picture below.

Sorry I didn't mention it, just stressing over getting my DD running right again.
Yes, the clutch is stock. The only mod i have on the car is the K&N FIPK.

Update

I took a look at it and the pulley that is attached to the crankshaft moves in towards the Eng. block when i apply the clutch.
It is at Miller Honda and they are going to take it apart and check that issue. They told me that they dont know if its gonna be covered by Honda Care.

Thanks for the help guys. You were spot on with the problem.
I'll update the post after the car gets back from the shop.
