Propshaft Front Joint AP1

Not sure if anyone can help me on this. I have a Ginetta G20 race car powered by an AP1 Engine. I need to replace the prop shaft front joint boot. I have looked at a number of oldish threads which have discussed this, but have not been able to find a route to source a replacement boot.

there is no boot on the prop shaft, unlike the axles. On the propshaft there is a cv joint inside the metal housing, if that is the issue I believe you need to replace the entire shaft as there are no re-build parts available from Honda.

There is a boot. Same one on both ends. Someone found a replacement that fits. In a thread someplace. You should clean and repack with grease when you replace boot. Do both ends.

Its correct that no replacement parts are available, just the whole shaft, at an unreasonable cost from Honda.

I've been working on getting a rebuild program going with a vender. But we need a critical mass of existing joints to rebuild ahead of time. To have units ready on shelf, ship you a rebuilt part off shelf, you send back core for rebuild for the next guy.

propshaft gearbox - diff: no boot, no rebuild parts.
propshaft diff - wheels: 2 boots on each side, rebuild parts available.

There is definitely a rubber boot that keeps the grease in the front joint.

Are you sure the drive shaft in your Ginetta is the same as the S2k? Or are you referring to the half shafts like Mr.Matchbox stated?

Thanks i appreciate your support. I have attached some photos of the prop shaft. I appreciate it is a special but the front attaches to a standard ap1 gearbox.

It looks to me like you are gonna have to have a custom shaft made up. Like others have said i dont think there are any rebuild parts available. :/

First hit on "propshaft boot" search: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...build-1171846/
For future reference the part you seem to need is a Pegasus Aero Boot - #1472-AERO - Aerodynamic Boot for CV Joint, 94mm
