After reading the great write up Marcucci wrote on Hondata Intake gasket it sounds like a great and cheap mod
but im wondering...since Mugen ECU does something to stop retarding timing from heat...or whatever it does, is it worth doing the hondata intake gasket if you use Mugen Intake and ECU?
Im curious because the Mugen Intake brings in cooler air and ECU does something for heat( I think)
Maybe I need to learn more about how engines work, so until I do, can anyone clarify if its worth doing the Intake gasket if I run a Mugen intake/ECU???
I know a few members run both so there input would really be useful, or maybe UL will chime in with Ultimate wisdom
thanks
ALSO... where can I buy the Hondata gasket??? or do any sponsers sell it

I think that you're right- the Mugen ECU "prefers" a cooler engine, in that it removes some of Honda's safety net for hot temperatures. I think that a Mugen ECU-equipped car would only benefit from the t-stat/switch AND the Hondata manifold insulator. The insulator is an excellent mod for a stock vehicle, it would only provide more of a safety margin for a Mugen-equipped car.

but it would do nothing for performance on Mugen equipped car
or would it?

Why wouldn't it improve performance on an S2000 with a Mugen ECU? The Hondata gasket will still help reduce IAT regardless of the intake or ECU, which will increase oxygen content. It seems to me that the gasket just adds to the benefit of the CAI.

Yes, you would seen an improvement on ANY S2000 equipped with ANY parts (factory or aftermarket). This is an excellent and relatively cheap performance mod for all EFI vehicles, and safe for all but probably those living in the Great White North.
