Billman sir, do you think code 0411 might be causing the 'seizing' at WOT?

As well as the occasional smell in the interior when dropping full WOT through a couple gears? (sometimes a burning smell, sometimes a gas (recirculation / EGR?) smell.

Thanks much in advance.

Argh! Car went from occasionally seizing around 6K RPM and WOT to seizing constantly / no power / will not start.

I was able to get rid of the CEL codes, but thats not much solace as the car will not start.

So far have tried replacing fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and crank sensor. No, no, and no, mechanic cannot get car to run.

He says he is not getting a spark / fuel indicator, although he was able to get spark + fuel indication once, but only once and now nothing at all.

He is now saying the ECU is the next thing to check.

Anyone got any ideas?

"Car went from occasionally seizing around 6K RPM and WOT to seizing constantly / no power / will not start."

When you say "seizing" you mean lost of power? Or the pistons are actually seizing up in the cylinders? Did you have loss of oil pressure with the no power symptoms? Overheating? Lost of coolant?

What CEL errors has the car spit out? Maybe time to start from the basics. Like compression and leak-down test. Check plugs. Oil level. Etc.

Perhaps, go at this ruling out simple potential issues first... then to complex. To avoid a "money pit" type solution.

Good luck.
