Rear Defroster Plug Question - Wiring
I wanted to see if someone had the wiring layout for the rear defroster. I wanted to use the defroster as a toggle/switch (On/Off) since I currently don't have it connected (Had it when I had my hardtop). Looking at the plug, I see it has 6 connectors (Picture Included). Does the rear defroster also have a relay built into it?
My idea was to have this control devices in the car which I can turn on when I want when the car is off like a dash cam, etc. An example would be to connect the dash cam to my ignition, but if I want it to run when the car is off depending on the area I'm at, I would be able to click the defroster and this would keep the power going. I know I can use a switch but rather use this switch sine its not being used.
Any ideas, help would be appreciated.

Cool idea. But doesn't the defroster only run when the ignition is on? So even if you did this, power would only be applied to the plug when ignition is on, and defroster switch is activated. Right?
Perhaps its better to wire an always on usb portback there. On Amazon you can buy such ports where you drill like a 1 inch hole, and it mounts cleanly using a big plastic nut from the back. Could mount it to some discreet spot near back of console, up by wind deflector screen.
Then just use power button on accessory, the camera, whatever, to turn on off.
The fusebox under dash by driver knee has spare fused spade connector ports for both ignition on and always on. Very convenient. All you'd need to do is pull a cable under carpet. Those plastic sill plates just pop off, so it wouldn't be difficult or time consuming to pull wire.

Thanks for your response. Currently the plug isn’t connected so I can tap into the power if needed. Another thought I had was for a kill switch to prevent the car from being stolen.
