Rear diff is dead, rebuild OEM or aftermarket?
You can see from one of my previous post's (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...50mph-1167180/) that my rear diff started making noises and clicks and whir's so now it is time to change a few parts / do a complete rebuild. I need all of you to help me decide. I can get OEM honda parts for my diff at a discounted price (new), or i was thinking of going with some aftermarket options that provide more reliability (racing parts). Since i dont know how reliable stock AP1's diffs are i would like for you guys to tell me what i should do and if you could you could suggest me some brands like j's racing e.t.c.
-Thank you very much, have a great day
-tl;dr Should i rebuild with aftermarket diff parts or stock OEM parts?

my 2 cents:
Look for a second hand differential. My guess is that enough cars have been totaled with front end damage and stripped down for parts that some good used differentials are out there. .
Then rebuild at your leisure, maybe change the gearing a bit to suit your special needs.
I know nothing about the S2000 diff, but I do have four differentials for the MGA with different gearing. I swap out as needed depending on the track.

The AP2 stock diffs are stronger than people seem to think. I've put a couple through HELL at 600+whp. I pulled this one out to finally upgrade and it doesn't make any noise. Ready to go:

If you buy a puddymod Diff you'll never have to worry about breaking it. It's not too much more than a used oem one and it gives you peace of mind that you'll never bust your diff again

I would love to get a puddy mod diff but my problem being from Cyprus, the shipping and customs here really suck so it will be more expensive to get the diff shipped here, than the actual diff itself.
My best option being buying some aftermarket parts for the diff, (like the ring and pinion gears that i heard are weak) and changing them out, or as i said, get the oem parts but i dont want to replace them again in another 65k miles....
