That is good to hear and it is not a big deal on my car. Most of the time I feel nothing. Smooth and tight.
I made this adjustment this evening. It took about 5 minutes three of which were finding my 12 mm wrench and my headlamp. We'll see how it feels in the AM on the way to work.

I drove around a bit today. The adjustment raised the clutch engagement point a bit. I like it. Feels good.

Two cups of coffee and reading this whole tread -- and I finally (!) understand this. Thanks, everyone.

I have two (2) "slacks" in the clutch when finger pressed. Can feel them both. No time this morning and it's a squeeze under the dash but it appears simple to remove the first slack travel by adjusting the rod after loosening the 12mm nut.

Yup. Understatement of the century. A picture is worth a thousand words. That video DIY is clear as a bell. This is not a huge deal but it is an example of a little thing that makes the car drive a tiny bit better. It did not change the feel of my transmission at all. I still have a very small catch moving into third gear until I am warmed up. As Billman suggests - if I run it up to 5k the catch goes away anyway.

Thanks to the video it took 10 minutes to make the rod finger tight and eliminate the first slack. Seven (7) of those minutes were extracting myself from under dash! It's a bitch getting old!

I did this today, and was upside down looking up to do the adjustment. I propped my feet up on a basketball to keep body level and not awkward bend killing my back. Worst part was getting out from under there, lol.
