You have the info you need. Just take your car to the dealer. Its a choice of programming the new ecu to your key or swapping out all the locks and avoiding the program. The problem with this is if you ever need to have the dealer cut you a new key you will have problems because the vin on the car will not match that key.

40 dollars is on the super super low end. Should be around 100 I think.

100= ripoff range I think

My dealer I went to is the largest in the state shop rate is 145/hr

Cost me 40 like I said. Maybe the guys just liked the car?

I paid $75 when I installed an 03 ECU in my 01 (constant P0411 CEL because the ECU was damaged). It's going to vary on where you go. The dealer by my house sucks... Maybe you'll get lucky.

Look at your key on the metal and look for a "T5" stamp. If it has one, you can't program with that key because it is a copy. You need to bring one of the original keys.

my key has that. If they can't program from that key can they program from the old ecu?
What if I don't have originals? do I need to have a new key made?

OK so basically I have to get a new key cut by a locksmith for my current ecu (not copied, I'll tell em I lost my last key) and then I can use that one?

to update, I ended up finding my "Original" key. Called around to a couple shops and a few dealerships to get prices. I didnt find any specialist shops with the equipment needed to program the ecu. One dealer I called said they wouldn't touch it, that was their policy with used ecu's. Another dealer quoted me 2.5 hours of labor? lol wtf? They told me the ECU was in a hard place to get to behind the dash
Third place quoted me $107 but I had to tow it to them with the ecu already swapped in.
went ahead and swapped out the part and had aaa tow me in, hour later I was good to go. definitely the better option over replacing all the lock cylinders or jerry rigging it somehow
