Had my car in to a Honda dealer for the 48k service. Part of it was to change the transmission oil. Reverse seems much harder to engage now. Forward gears also seem a bit more notchy, but not as bad as reverse. This is with the engine and transmission hot, driving around in 35 degree Celcius weather. Anyone else experience this after tranny fluid change? Is it something that gets better after time?

That does not sound at all normal. I would contact the Service Manager immediately. If anything it should work smoother.

For some reason, I had this problem immediately after the last change to Honda's brand, which was in a different looking bottle than previous versions. There was also a lot of grinding at Spring Mountain track.

Switching to GM Synchromesh did not result in those problems.

Contacting the Service Manager would be a good idea.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the dealer screwed up and put regular 10W30 or 10W40 in there, assuming the S2000 would use the same oil as a Civic.

They could have not drop suffisant oil in it and oil pump does not reach oil level properly ....causing bad oiling inside needle bearings .

When I originally picked it up, I only drove about 15 minutes to my office. That's when I first tried putting it reverse to park. Is it possible that because it's a pressurized system the oil hadn't circulated throughout by then? Maybe some air bubbles or something caused by draining the system? Luckily (or maybe unluckily) the car is scheduled to go back for the 1-2 grind TSB (along with clutch disk and spark plug TSB) as soon as the parts arrive, in which case I assume they'll need to dump the oil again anyways. I'll keep you updated...
