Default Robbins Soft Top Install

Hey all,

I have been working through the install on my soft top, but I’m running into an issue.

There is a small plastic piece with a hole but I can’t seem to figure out where it fits on the frame to screw in. I will attach a picture.

It also doesn’t seem to want to move around much.

Is there a flap of the soft top that goes on the bottom screw hole??

Check out this YouTube Video, fas forward to 13:50 and hopefully that will help to see how things fold in there.

The black tab is placed underneath of the top fabric and screwed into that lower hole in your photo. I installed a Sierra Top back in November which is very similar and from what I remember the screw did not go thru the pre-punched hole in the tab. That was one of the most challenging parts of the whole job....

Hopefully this will help you out!

Got everything squared away with the flap, probably the worst or second worst part of this job. I never want to do this again…

But now my top won’t close all the way. I know it’s typically tight to start, but is this normal?

Don’t want to break to motor or the frame trying to force it forward. I was trying to give it some assistance but it’s not wanting to budge.

Normal. Leave in sun. It'll close after.

Yup. Get a friend, start the car, they push the close button you pull top closed and try to get the latch to catch. Do the other side & then close each latch.

Just don't use the OPEN LATCH to try and close the top. There are only tiny pins holding that hinge.
