Rough Shifting after fluid change
Just changed my tranny fluid with genuine honda MTF a few days ago after I changed my clutch. It was fine and felt like normal for the past two days I've been driving it. Until tonight, on my way home, I noticed it wasn't necessarily harder to put it into gear, but it's definitely rough now. Any ideas? It might just be in my head, but I feel like it should be much smoother. It feels like there's not even any fluid in there.. Just metal rubbing on eachother. And yes, I filled the fluid when the tranny was normally level, until it starts leaking out.

adjust the clutch master cylinder. It may not be completely disengaging. I'm assuming that it's probably harder to put it into gear when the car is not in motion?

Good Luck |
Thanks guys. I guess today will be another work day. I bled the CMC almost 2 months ago, so the fluid shouldn't be a problem. I'll try everything else in a bit!

Alright. Just went down and changed it to "zero free play." Im not sure what you mean by checking the CMC. It's not leaking anywhere. The fluid is good enough to not cause problems. And I used the suggested, Genuine Homda DOT 3 Brake Fluid when I bled it. Also, it's NOT harder to put into fear when the car is stationary (and off).

I would leave a bit of freeplay on the clutch rod, just in case it tightens up and then you will get clutch slippage.
Check the slave cylinder rod to make sure it is sitting in the fork correctly and it is pushing it correctly when the clutch is depressed (need a helper for that ) |
I can't check the slave cylinder rod without taking the big boot off.. And if I check it, I can't put the boot back on without messing with it. I doubt that's the problem though.. The clutch and all its linkage seems completely fine. The shifting is only rough when the car is in motion.
