s2000 motor mounts

okay so while changing the clutch on my s2000 i realized both my motor mounts were broken so i was wondering if any of you guys had any experiences with aftermarket motormounts on these cars and which are the best for the price and where i could get them cheap.

Wildncrazy 06-07-2010 12:22 PM

I had 2 busted as well and posted here at the forum and had several people offer me sets for a reasonable price. I think I paid less than $50 for a pair and that included shipping.

s2papi 06-07-2010 12:53 PM

how did you process the payment?

s2k jen 06-07-2010 12:59 PM

Innovative 65a's are a goodupgrade. Not to stiff.

s2papi 06-07-2010 01:40 PM

i want them to be good on the street but also if the super stiff ones feel the same id rather just get those

s2k dre 06-07-2010 03:51 PM

The 65a's are a little stiffer than stock. Thats the ones im gonna buy. Along with the diff inserts. Also i dont care about having a comfortable ride. I bought this car to have a rough ride.

Stealth Operator 06-07-2010 05:21 PM

75A then ... 65A reported sagging from a few members in the past.

s2papi 06-07-2010 06:19 PM

yea i think im just gonna go with the megan racing since their kit also includes the transmission mounts for $300. but then again these innovative ones just look so much better and they really look like quality pieces so idk either way im not gonna be driving th car anytime soon it needs a new cam sensor as well as the motor mounts and im waiting on my wheels too so parked til further notice lol. and s2k dre ur cars sick i have suzuka blue and i love how it looks on those rpf1

Thanks mang. The innovative mounts come with the tranny mount too. So its a good deal for those.

they hold the engine in place, they can heavily affect the ride.....mainly under load and deceleration.

s2papi 06-08-2010 05:07 PM

but then again guys the inovative motor mounts seem to bring a transmission mount as well as brackets for the motor mounts and tranny mounts. if it does include these im just gonna spend the extra couple of bucks and get innovative. i emailed an ebay seller and im waiting for his reply

The more "solid" the mounts, the more it will change the way the car handles and drives. It will also make the car sound louder as the engine movement is more direct.

The innovative kit comes with the replacement transmission mount. It's a real piece of work, the only real modification that truly improves the transmission engagement for our cars.

Whatever type of shift knobs have nothing on innovative's transmission replacement mount.

Yes, the innovative kit is a real well engineered product. The lifetime guarantee is a testament to their high level of quality and post sales service.

vtec4life57 06-13-2010 10:28 PM

how difficult are these to install?

zatesta 06-13-2010 10:35 PM

Both of my engine mounts were bad so I got the Innotive 75a's. Installing them took about 2-3 hours by myself. Really straight forward except the tranny mount. Having another set of hands might help with that one. Overall I don't think i could have asked for better quality or results.

4forall 06-14-2010 05:49 AM

Well 75a's are going on my to do list now! Thanks for the info.

vtec4life57 06-14-2010 07:05 AM

cool now i know

Moddiction 06-14-2010 09:22 AM

If you are concerned with ride comfort do not buy stiffer ones. Especially anything over 65A. I had really stiff mounts on my DSM and it just totally destroyed any possibility of a comfortable ride lol.
Whole car would vibrate like crazy!!

jaundice 06-14-2010 09:35 AM

You might check in the FI section. Lots of info on motor mounts there. Currently the same thread ongoing...

75A is still not too bad, I wouldn't go anything over 75A.

65A are better than JDM type stiffer rubber engine mounts. If the car is meant to be driven 90% on streets, 65A would be a better option. Then again, I am worried about the sagging.

starchland 06-15-2010 03:26 AM

what mileage are you guys seeing for replacement and how can one check? just a visual inspection?

have a friend ease off the clutch while the car is in first gear with the E-brake engaged.....this will put some stress on the mounts causing the mounts to flex so you can see any excessive play.

but if you know what your looking for the afformentioned is not needed.

I installed the Innovative 65a mounts in my S2. They solved a lot of little problems my S had. First was when the car was turned off, it would shake a little. Second was the gear shift would vibrate some when driving around. After I installed the mounts, It all stopped. The mounts have been in the car for six months now, with no sagging at all. I say go head and pick up a set.

I have had my Megan Racing motor and transmission mounts in for a year and I havent noticed any wear as of yet (mixture of hard driving).
Daily driver comforts are still there its just that the engine/transmission feel more direct on and off throttle and when shifting.
This is my daily driver and I love them more than any modification so far.

I just installed some Innovative 75As on my 07 since I found the right mount was ruptured and the left was weakened. My car is a compromise between DD and track. Since I have a Kraftwerks SC and KW V3 coilovers the OEM mounts just didn't hold up. The 75As are great at the track and give you an agressive bite, but they are just too rough for me for street use. The car vibrates uncomfortably at idle.

So I'm going to try to trade them for some 65As.

RETURNOFCELICASPEED 08-20-2010 07:54 AM

I put the innovative 75a is my street driven s, and honestly it is the BEST bang for the buck mod out there. I have an 01 with 44k on the odo. I replaced these and it made every aspect of driving better, especially putsing around at low rpms in the city, HUGE improvement. The vibrations are hardly noticable, I just wish i had gone with the 85a's...

wadzii 08-20-2010 08:02 AM

I must have a higher tolerance or something, I have innovate 85a mounts and dont get very much vibration at all from the mounts.

the car is much more enjoyable to drive w/these than it was the stock mounts.

Where did you purchase these for that price?

onions2k 08-22-2010 03:56 PM

Also interested in knowing where to get these... that would send internationally!
