s2k oil consumption why?

Ok so I have an 03 s2000 that had previously messed up. It hasn't been driven for quite a while now and well a month ago I took it to my Honda Mechanic and he showed me all my valves. They all had carbon build up and were bent so he told me he was going to replace the valves the head gasket the valve seals, guides, retainers, and he even cleaned out the head and made it look back to brand new again.

Also when I Vtec my car blows smoke out the exhaust. My Honda mechanic told me to put 10w-40 with some stuff called "Smoke Be Gone" has anyone tried this and if they have does it work?

I read this before I posted:
AP1 (99-03)
Problem: Oil consumption
Solution: Some owners have said that a catch can has solved the issue.
Fact: Several S2000 owners have reported a oil consumption issue with Mobile 1.
Fact: Early AP1's (1999-2003) have a reputation of burning oil while in Vtec

My car used to smoke through the exhaust white while it was idling now it doesn't but when I drive about 4-5 hours away from home and come back without Vtec'n once it still comes back with no oil.

It also makes some annoying fast ticking sound like if it were the exhaust or something vibrating against another piece or I dont know what the hell it is....

Also wondering if this could be happening due to needing of a valve adjustment? I never got my valves adjusted after he put all that stuff new.

The only advice i can give u is, tear the motor down and see whats wrong. the rings could be toast or the valve guides with the seals. Alot of ap1's have this issue, so dont know where honda messed up.

It sounds like you're getting oil past your rings.

You can do a compression/leak down test to see if that is the case.

Though your mech may have done the head he might not have inspected your rings.

Remember, when oil gets really hot it gets thinner and will more easily slip by the rings.

I think you have to start at square one. Run a compression test make sure the valves are lashed _CORRECTLY. Any time you mess with the head you have to lash the valves.

:iagree:

You have a train wreak motor and it burns oil. OK. Get them to fix it, and stop running junk oil.
