Single pop noise when turning car off?

Mine does it sometimes when I turn the key on. I think its the plugs firing when you power up the ignition.

^^^its not. trust me


tons of cars do this. the pressure slowls subsides through a half open valve or soemthing and the check valve will open up and it will equalize out. my nissan used to do it alot. but it had a vacuum pump where as ours run off of the vacuum that the IM creates.

oh man i thought i was the only one... lol
i heard this yesterday when i shut off my car. i remember i turned off my music and when i turn it off my car i heard a pop. and today i heard it again lol.
wheew glad it isn't bad or anything =O

I hear it too in my 06. I've only had the car about two months and the first time i turned the car off I was like "wtf"

Its good to finally know what that is. I had been secretly worried that it was a precursor to a major engine problem.

nah what alot of people equate it to is diesseling. carbed cars used to do this, you shut the car off and and it slowld dies out rather than shutting off like it should. only cars that have a mechanical way of delivering fuel (any VW untill like freakin 2000, any carbed car or anything with "mechanical" fuel injection) tend to still deliver fuel after the key is turned off due to rotational inertia of the motor as thats what many of those systems use to drive fuel delivery. carbs are a little different but you get the point.
