Default Soft Top Latch broken

Hey Guys,

Some a plastic piece on my pass side soft top latch broke yesterday. Look a this picture:

What do I need to fix it? It latches but it isn't tight and I can lower the latch without pressing the button and it won't latch without the hook in (following the procedure to take the top down).

What part do I need and what is involved in replacement?

Thanks,

Tom

OH, I KNOW.

Both of mine broke last year. Go to your local auto parts store and get 3000 lb strength plastic epoxy. Just dab it on, and hold it together for a few minutes. You might use a paper towel or q-tip to wipe away any excess.

It'll set up in 24 hours, and you'll be good to go. Best $8 buck fix ever. Let us know how it goes, and PM me if you have any questions.

Yes, you need the whole assmby. Two screws and you are done. Easy DIY fix.

I lost the small plastic piece, so I just used a velcro strap to hold the latch in place till I bough some replacement latches.

This just happened to me about a week ago. BOTH latches snapped while putting the top down. It punctured 2 small holes on each side! I was pissed because I had just installed a 'used' but great condition top with NO tears. Anywho I had to get new latches.

You Poped holes in your top because the center Bar in your soft top frame didn't go down properly. The elastic piece that should pull the center bar to the rear wears out and the center bar folds forward instead and your top folds the incorrect way causing the Holes.
