gonna change the old ones.
need some advice on which spark plugs to get,
since i know nothing on this aspect of the car =P

If the car has been running well and you have been happy with the performance, why not just replace them with what's in it already?
**** UNLESS, you did not get the spark plug recall, in which case, you need to get the new, revised platinum plugs with the stainless steal crush ring. AND, you must also torque them to the new spec: 18 ft/lbs. This would bring your car up to current OEM stock specs.

I thought they were supposed to be Iridium?

 

No - I don't know of any stock car that comes with iridium plugs - platinum provides the long service life that mfrs want.

NGK copper plugs give performance comparable to the Iridium plugs at a fraction of the price, but have a shorter service life.

I just happened to have replaced mine today with Denso IK-24's. The electrode on the OE NGK's looks like the iridium plugs, maybe that is what fools people.

It is so easy on the S2000 compared to the Cobra or the Vettes - the vettes were always nightmares to do plug changes.

 

I got the car used, don't have manual. what is the OEM recommended sprak plug change?

 

The OEM reccomended change interval is 105,000 .


BTW, RSX-S uses Iriduim plugs, stock

 

I've heard about the spark plug recall, but there are no recalls reported on my S2000 (01'). Didn't this affect all 00-01's?

How would you know if you need to change to the correct (newer) plugs?

 

The only sure way is to take them (one) out and check the part number. The "proper" plug should have an "S" on the end of the number.
