Sparkplug recommendations?

So this was done at 110K by the previous owner.

-Fuel Filter Assembly Replaced
-New Valve Cover Gasket & Sparkplug Tube Seals

Valve adjustment might be out of my skillset anyway as I've not done that type of thing in many years.

Valve adjustment is well within your skill set. Tedious in the extreme though and your back will ache for days afterwards from being bend over the engine. Raise the car on your lift to a more convenient height. Tools consist of a couple of bent feeler gauges and there's a $25 valve adjustment tool you can get from Amazon to make things easy. Videos and photo essays abound. Good team project. One person reads and double checks while the other adjusts as/if needed.

Pull the spark plugs to make turning the engine easier and put those new ones in when done.

Do you have the specs of that last adjustment?

Those feeler gauges will work fine.

I do .009" on intake, 0.012" on exhaust --- cold engine.

1 - Gasket Set, Head Cover 12040pcx305
4 - Seal, Spark Plug Tube (Nok) 12342pcx004

As Chuck mentioned, raise the car up so that you are able do the work without doing extreme yoga...

Also, the engine needs to be cold. I let mine sit overnight

Did the previous owner do all these things in an attempt to cure the same misfire situation?

Did you buy the car with a CEL already present for a misfire?

Did the original owner at least use genuine Honda parts for his/her part chucking exercise?

What fuel filter is being referenced on their receipt or workorder? Or was this just a generic list of things they claimed to have done?

It sounds to me like the previous owner had the same issue as you and was trying to fix it without diagnosing it. Then they gave up and put the car up FS.

You really should read the FSM instructions for this task.

If you're not comfortable doing it...do not do it. Its not difficult, but certainly not something you want to mess up.

Not sure how mechanically inclined you are or how motivated you are.

DIY valve adjustments aren't for everyone.

I'm a huge proponent of stopping and finding out what needs to get done before going and doing it (as you can tell).

Diagnosing someone else's car on the internet isn't an exact science. You're gonna end up lost just trying to follow someone's theory of solutions.

But the steps to diagnosis are a repeatable science.

Do a compression and leakdown test first.
Note the condition of your existing plugs.

If you can, find out why the PO did all the things he/she did. And find out where they sourced parts. If the parts are aftermarket, throw them away. Buy ones from a dealer. The car isn't designed to misfire.... so start with a known good baseline of factory parts.

Any other aftermarket parts on the car?

Post info here...and we can give you more educated and pointed tips.
