steering probs
I have lost my power steering and I am not sure if it is just the rack, or the electric motor assist or even the torque sensor in the gear box. Sometimes it will work for a short while but when i cut the car off and start it back it will quit. I have already checked all of the fuses under the hood and the fuse links and even pulled the plug on the electric motor on the rack and pinon the make sure of no corrosion on the contacts. If anyone can give me anymore info on my issues please do so. Also if I end up having to replace the electric motor can I just replace the motor or will I have to replace the whole rack and pinon assembly. The year of the s2k is a 2001. from what i've read on the forum the eps module will go bad(eps light comes on) and you'll lose power steering...this can also be caused by the car needing a new battery...from what i've read anyway

Yes the EPS light is on and come to think of it when the battery gets low on juice is when it dont work but when I charge the battery it seems to work maybe that is the prob. I will try a new battery and see what happens. If that is not the problem you said the EPS module goes bad if that is the case can I pick that up at a parts store or do I need to go to honda for that. As far as how it feels it isnt too awful bad to drive but where I live in the mountains of NC there are a lot of twistys so it makes it kinda hard to drive sometimes. Plus it has been lowered so freaking much it just makes it that much harder to turn especially at low speed say in a parking lot. If at all possible I would like to have it working again. Hey guys thanks for all of the help. Any more ideas would be nice. By the way if anybody remembers Nick Pappas he is the person I bought the car from. I think the guy that built the car to start with was Chris or screename cjb80?. Once again thanks for the help.
