Default Stumbling at 2000-3000 RPM's

I have 122,XXX miles on my 00 and have noticed that there is a little bit of stumbling/hesitation between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm lately. I don't have any CEL and the car runs great otherwise. I'm contacting the previous owner to see if he changed the spark plugs but according to the manual they're good for 120K. Has anyone else experienced this issue before, was it spark plugs or something else?

Plugs are a good place to start.
If that doesn't work, maybe dirty / fatigued injectors.
Coilpacks are another possibility.

I'll check the plugs. What about the coil packs, are failures common for high mileage cars?

Since you hav an '00 make sure that the spark plug update was performed on the car. Early cars (2000 & 2001, maybe more) had under-torqued spark plugs that would rarely cause catastrophic engine failure. The newer plugs have a different gasket and higher torque specification.

The TSB has been done. I'm guessing it's just time to replace them. Are there any acceptable plugs besides the $15 a piece factory NGK's?

Try reading the Voltage of the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), I am going through this nightmare now, it should read .40v or so at idle and 4.5 when the throttle is fully depressed

I've been happy with the OEM NGKs. Some have reported problems with Bosch and Denso, so I'll stick with OEM. $60 for plugs that last that long is worth it to me.

Investigate the other possible causes of your concern, but I'd replace the plugs too with that many miles.

The car is stock with just the Comptech icebox and 4-1 header. I'll do the plugs first and move down the list. Is the TPS sensor a common failure? It doesn't hestitate or run weird above 3000 rpms and pull strong through the rev range. Also getting normal gas mileage.
