Um, troll?

Why do you want to replace the motor? Is something wrong with it? Or do you just want to rev it to 9k? Just swapping motor won't do that, as its the ecu that controls redline.

You'd haveto swap some sensors and stuff just to get the older motor to run in your car.

Troll ? How am I trolling anyone if I’m asking a serious question ? If you don’t have any info or knowledge you would like to share then no need to comment just keep it moving .

I gave a response that included useful detail. I asked about this question being a troll because you are trying to out an older motor in a newer car. Why would you want to put a different motor for a different year in your car if its not an upgrade?

The only advantage of ap1 over ap2 is its ability to rev to 9k. But as already stated you can't leverage that advantage if your ecu is going to cut the party at ap2 redline.

So why not get a spare motor that actually matches your car?

Ok mayb I hAve should of been more specific on the question. Where can I purchase a lower mileage or brand new f22c? Hmotoronline only sell the f20c which is why I ask how complicated is the swap if I wanted to go with that motor , because I’m looking to restore my s2k fully back to factory but with a lower mileage original motor or brand new possibly if possible “ but I doubt it “. Do you know a place or website that sell the f22c ?

Ah, now I understand!

Honda used to sell ap2 shortblock for surprisingly reasonable amount. They may or may not ever make more, its unclear. You can rry ordering one. Maybe if they see orders they're do a run of them.

Inline Pro does rebuilds which are known for their quality. I believe they can sell you a completed motor, but there may be a core charge (you could buy a used block to use as core if its cheaper than core charge).

Swapping motors between 00-05 is plug and play. Switching between F20C and F22C isn't a problem: you can either reuse the ECU that's already in the car and have a slightly incorrect A/F ratio, or swap to the correct ECU for the engine but you will have to reprogram your car's keys to that ECU first.
