Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming it'd be easy to rule out one of those two hypothesis. With a bad crank position sensor, wouldn't you get crank but no start, where with an issue with clutch interlock you'd get no crank at all?

Crank being defined as push start button, and engine goes roundy round, tryin to start, but never does. No crank being push button and nuthin happens at all.

I was referring to the CKP. Can that cause no start or more accurately, failed start? Just as it attempts to start from cranking it stumbles out and the process repeats...?
