Default Think my fan switch might be going bad

ok a few days ago i took my06 out for a spin and i noticed that the rad fan wouldnt switch off when i parked. thought this was strange but it was the first HOT day of the year so didnt pay much attention. left the car in the garage and didnt think about it. now fast forward to today about 5 days later. I go crank it up and nothing, dead.

battery was down to nothing, i was just happy it was a costco battery and i was able to exchange it without any hassle. I install the new batt and the first thing i hear is the fan kick right on.

pulled the fan relay and tested it with the multi meter according to instructions in the helms manual, this leads me to believe it is a faulty fan switch.

sounds about right?

i know for most people it is problems with the fan not kicking in at all, i have the opposite.

had this happen to me about a month ago - relay was bad - swapped it with one of the other relays next to it, fan turned off.

if relays aren't available from your dealer, Advance Auto Parts has one that matches for about $8.

hmm the fan didnt kick on at all right now but i may have to wait until morning for the ambient temperature to rise, all instances when i have seen this issue come up have been when it is 80+ degrees outside.
