Ticking at idle only in cabin
#11
I bet you its the EVAP purge control solenoid valve, noticed that thing ticking from inside the cabin on my car too.
Its electronically controlled and momentarily shuts of when you rev the engine.
You can test it by unplugging the electrical connector to it and the sound will stop (you will get a CEL though so need to reset the ECU after).
The sound is normal for this valve and nothing to worry about.

Did you find out what was causing the ticking noise? I have the exact same noise in my 06 with 39,000 miles. Sounds like it's something underneath the steering column closest to the pedals just can't pinpoint exactly where.

I have this exact same noise, replaced the TCT without taking the time to really listen around it was coming from. It sounds more like it coming from the back right of the engine near the headers. Only has 48k and seems to run great. Thinking exhaust leak or I am in a race to no where.

Just a SWAG, but what about injector "noise" as they pulse open and closed. Would be more audible at idle and blend in at higher RPM. Other brands are notorious for this, not sure about our cars. My 2006 with 35K miles and last valve adj at 32K is quiet all throughout the range. Thoughts?

My 06 recently started to tick as well, only in cabin at idle when the engine is warm. Very faint sound, I can't hear it if there is traffic around me. The fact that I noticed this sound right after a track day kinda scared me, I ran pretty hard(7 sessions in a day). Valve clearance is fine, cylinder compression is good too.

I never figured it out. I've driven the car quite a bit since then and I dont baby it. Must not be something critical. I'm going to check the evap purge solenoid that someone else has recommended.

Does the OP need to do the Head head bolt O-ring fix? I noticed it's stained.
