Very cheap. Has anyone tried one of these?

You can fix the issue forever with a Billman TCT. Better than OEM which someday will require another replacement. You get what you pay for. The problem for us with the S2000 is they ain't making any more so when the engine craters, it is gone.

Of all the things to gamble on, this isn't one of them.. high risk for what kind of reward?

If one want to buy the Original Part and not a Upgraded one, (Billman, Toda), the Original Part is made by the reputable japanese Company NTN. The NTN marking is cast into the cover plate.
You could find it on Rockauto, sold as "Aisin BTH501".

The Billman TCT is the gold standard but to my knowledge is only available in the USA since the core has to be returned to Bill.

Agree with everyone here. Saving money on the part that literally keeps your engine from blowing up isn't not something I would risk purchasing.
