Track gauge (oil temp, oil pressure etc) recommendations?

Thanks

I don't think you really need anything else on an N/A engine...

You may want EGT but I don't know that you really need it.

I would definitely get Oil temp though. Oil pressure readings are interesting to watch in long sweeping corners.

Well, I dont really have any gauges yet... Just wondering what gauges are
people using here... What type of gauge? (I can think of oil pressure, oil
temp.... ) Any particular brand/model what will work better or easier to
install on the S2000?

Thanks,

I am running Auto Meter oil temperature, oil pressure and water temperature gauges on my track car. The sending units for the oil gauges are mounted in a Greddy oil filter adapter block and the water temperature sending unit is mounted in the freeze plug on the side of the engine (where the header is). My fab guy pulled the plug out, drilled it and tapped it, mounted the sending unit and replaced it.

I can't offer any advice for mounting locations - mine are bolted to the dash where they are most visible during a race.

I used the Defi BF link gauges and the defi link display. I have the Water temp, Oil temp, Oil Pressure and Boost gauge currently installed. I have the EGT and Fuel pressure as well, but I have not installed it yet.

My defi gauges

Defi...all the serious s2000 race cars in Japan use em...
Spoon...Amuse...

Oh and the Black Face series looks pimp as hell too!

Sure, if you are into bling bling and $$$$ is burning hole in your pocket.
I am with Yellow Streak, I had autometer gauges in my other cars, great quality and and reasonable $$.
No disrespect to you KIDS2000 but starting with comments like "all the serious s2000 race cars in Japan use em." Makes me want to say 'get a :spam:en life.' If you know what I mean.

Alright then, let me rephrase...the very celebrated Spoon and Defi cars use the Defi gauges...

Also i noticed you could be in the market for several guages...then you should check out Defi's amazing "link display", which maybe the new movement in in car meters, as it can display heaps of vital information without having round things all over inside the car. One display to do the job of several gauges...

Sensors will need to be bought to actually give readings (not to forget the control unit /2).
The trend at Japan now is to have the least possible meters as possible...

How obtrusive are the a-pillar pods??, do you lose some visiblity??. Just a thought but has anybody attempted to replace the drivers sunvisor with gauges???
