Transmission Noise, Help!

Transmission Noise, Help!
Hey guys, I recently purchased a 2009 s2k from an owner that beat the shit out of it (track car). I've noticed it has this weird humming noise when I accelerate the vehicle. The noise seems to go away when i depress the clutch so that leads me to believe it's a transmission problem. Doing some research I read a few threads that recommended replacing the tailshaft bearings and so I performed the replacement last weekend and the noise is still there.
Here's a video demonstrating the problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70wcE022HEM
during the parts where the noise comes in and out was me just showing the difference between accelerating and letting off the gas, the noise is constant during acceleration.
The noise has no effect on the performance of the vehicle, but as you can imagine in the video it would drive you crazy. I wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem and can point me in the right direction. I'm pretty good with my hands so I would probably end up performing the maintenance myself unless it's some serious transmission work.
Any ideas?

There's a piece of factory noise insulation missing from around the base of the shifter.
Any chance (it was a track car) that it has "upgraded" engine and/or diff mounts? I have spoon mounts on my car, they allow a lot more diff and trans noise into the cabin than the stock mounts.
