Default turbo question?

can anyone tell me what is the maximum boost a stock internal motor can handle on a turbo? i was thinking of boosting 6 on the streets and 8 at the race tracks. is this okay. please let me know your comments...thanks.

I would go the other way around. More on the street and less on the track. I've been running 9 psi on the street for the last 10 1/2 months. But thats with water injection.

When you say race track, I'm assuming you mean autocross, in which case you will be under max boost conditions a lot more than you would be under street conditions. For an engine with stock internals, the potential for destroying the engine will go way up.
