Upgraded oil pump
Hi all, can someone know if the above pump is it the upgraded one or the old pre 2003 one ?
Any benefits in upgrading it ?
Thanks.

If the tolerances are within spec & the gears/shaft turns freely, you are prolly good to go. I hadn't heard about upgraded oil pumps in these cars.

One thing I miss on modern cars is an oil pressure gauge.
Reading this you start wondering if you should upgrade the oil pump in your pre update car just as a matter of course. I know we have an idiot light, but boy it would be nice to see a gauge.
I'm curious now if they increased the oil pressure spec for the engine when they did this. Why did they do this anyway?

Was there a recall to install this oil pump upgrade?
Like they did (*) with the oil jets?
(*) or better: they didn't in the US because the "sustained high speed/rpm wasn't much of an issue in the US"
