Default Vacuum tube on the front of the valve cover?

I already have a catchcan plumbed into the line between my PCV and intake manifold but my car was still smoking on hard left > right handers at the track

I pulled the other line off the front of the valve cover and it had oil in it
So I decided to put a breather on it and plug the hole in the intake.

My thinking is if the front valve cover line is not connected to a vacuum it won't suck oil into the intake but will be able to breathe

Is there any problem with running it like this? I am hoping I'm not going to see oil spitting out of the little breather filter or something

The line you are refuring to is the crankcase breather. If you have alot of oil coming out of it, the most likely your PCV valve is shot. Take the PCV off and see if it rattles.

ok I changed the PCV recently so maybe that will cure the oil woes

A new PCV will not cure the oil ingestion problem the S2000 has at the track.

as I talked to you about last time, from what I've come to understand, the baffles in the AP1 valve cover cause oil to stay in the valve cover. On those hard banking turns, the oil is sloshed back through the breather tube and shot into the intake snorkel. Especially if the throttle is open.

Happens in AP2s as well, just tends not to be as bad.

well it seemed to stop for a while after I got the catchcan on the PCV.
I was thinking maybe my PCV was clogged that was causing the oil to come out the breather

I guess I'll find out when I hit the track
if oil still comes out the breather I guess I could use a crankvent on it

I know people that have done both to track cars and it didn't do much to help the situation. I'm the only person out of my track group that doesn't experience that issue. Spoon valve cover FTW!

If a catch can doesn't catch oil... what's the use?
