Default Vibration/Clicking Sound/Metal Clunk

Hi Guys;

Thought I'd be a nice guy and share my experiences with vibrations on my S and how I went about to fixing it and eliminating 99.99% of vibrations that ran through the drivetrain/chassis on acceleration/deceleration/heavy-throttle/light-throttle.

Problem:
Vibration on Throttle, Clunking on low speed, Clunking on momentum, Notchy/Jumpy shifting.

Fix:
Replaced missing bolt, re-tightened and loctite both bolts.

Was:

Should:

Check yours Today!

Peace.

Behind the diff towards the front of the car.. I didn't realise it until I had it up on a hoist. The first instance I noticed it, I actually jacked it up and had a quick look at everything.. Didn't pick it up..

Vibration on Clunking? My clunk was more like a flapping of metal, literally the mount arm was flapping on the diff.. Only audible and low speeds because of momentum..

If your vibrating on accelleration, it's most likely your CV cups.

Peace.

Hi Onion, any chance you can repost those photos? They are no longer showing. I know the post is old, but thought I'd try...

Yea I'm curious what bolts he was dealing with. Sounds like two bolts, one was missing, and he re-tightened both with loctite.

Maybe it was bolts for diff mount A bracket (the front mount bracket). Or bolts on the front rubber mount A assemblies.
