Want to remove vaccum lines from air pump leading to intake manifold

So since my air pump is no longer working and I am trying to do a wire tuck with my engine bay, I want to remove the vac lines from the air pump going to the intake manifold and I think the EGR?? Can I just cap those off at the manifold and they will be fine?? I already have P0410 and have for about a yr now so I am fine with the CEL. But I want to know do I leave them open or cap them off... :tipwink:

If you do this make sure you check that CEL often to see if something else pops up later down the road for something other than P410

Ohh I check it prolly every 3 weeks. I have a code reader in my secret compartment Lol... So anyone know if capping them off will do anything??

Colin,

I have completed a few wire and hose tucks on S2Ks and the air reservoir located on the air filter box can be moved to another location (thus eliminating the two vacuum lines running under the IM). Try locating the air reservoir and switch under the windshield cowling.
Now to eliminate it completely: Yes, you can cap the two vacuum ports.

Remember to save all the parts for when you decide to sell one day.

Cheers,

if you never plan on fixing the air pump you can get a blockoff plate that replaces the egr and yes you can remove the three hoses (one going into egr, the one that goes into the intake tube and the vacuum hose going to egr). puddydad sells a blockoff plate for the egr https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/558...able-products/

I was thinking about doing that block off plate... But I still want the EGR since I have E-tests I still have to do. I will cap off those lines for now though. :tipwink:

PS: The air pump has some pretty hefty power lines leading to it!

I'm doing this delete today since I'm on AEM Series 2 ECU which doesn't need or worry about the air pump and I installed an AEM fuel rail so the vacuum hard lines don't attach to it. They look more obviously out of place now. I just want to clean it up and cap off a few ports. The vacuum reservoir will come out too. I'll keep everything in a box. I'll be supercharged as soon as I get my crank pulley off and I don't feel like relocating the reservoir and solenoid so I'll just remove them :)
