UL, I think I have the same problem. It happens as I roll to a stop, usually in neutral. It starts small and gets louder until I stop. But it sounds like its a certain spot on the wheel revolution. It sounds almost like a grinding sound or rubbing metal. You guys figured out what your problem was?

Get a mechanics stethescope and start poking around the hub with it. You should hear the grinding in the bearing if its bad.

Sorry to hear about your diff.

Did any of you others (UL, pitchnplaya17) find the source of your noises? I have had an intermittent noise from my right rear for almost a week that I would describe similar to your noises. It started just 2 days BEFORE I rebuilt my diff with 4.77s, so I am sure it is not the diff. I'm thinking it is the wheel bearing.

Mine had to do with the axle nut TSB. Mine was loose enough that I didn't even need to put much force on it to spin it (could have done with a 6" ratchet).

Tightened it up and voila, no more noise. However, krazik correctly pointed out that some bearing damage could have occured, so I'll probably do a replacement soon.
