what is the best transmission fluid for a s2k
i got my s2k a month ago, trying to change the transimission oil and rear differential oil, i know the mobil 1 is good for the rear diferentail, but what about the trany? which one is the best honda OEM or redline? where can i get them online for a better price?
thank you for all the replies!!:) |
I just recently switched to Penzoil Syncromesh. Do not do that...
Stick with Honda MTF. Can't go wrong and only a few bucks a quart |

The majority of people on this board run the honda MTF HG fluid for their trannys. This fluid is designed specifically for Honda and Acura transmissions. It is a fortified 10w-30 motor oil with special additives for smooth gear changes.
I just changed mine last night. |
HONDA MTF only for tranny!
As for rear diff, switch to LE607, it's better than Mobil 1. I'm using Mobil 1 now, but I will be switching to the LE607 (you can get it from Rick's - see link on site). |

I just had amsoil 75w-90 series 2000, put in both trans and diff. shifting was smoother and reverse engagement is a little better. amsoil is better than redline from what I have read. LK
