Sometimes when I start the car, the dome lights and dashboard flickers. Is this normal? Sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it gets to the point where I think for a second it won't start. I reccently replaced the battery with oem, I had a yellow top duralast prior.

 

why do you have all the lights on before you start it?

 

The cluster is always lit, and he might have the door open so the dome light is on, lol.

 

Correct. Most of the time I leave my door open because I have to access my trunk after. It's a weird process. And so i can get high off my testpipe jk.

 

Sounds like the alternator might be retiring....

 

I was thinking the same, just wanted to get some feedback before I spend $ ...I feel like I'm just being paranoid

 

Mine does it too, I'll try to get a video of it in an hour or so to see we can compare.

I don't think it would be the alternator because it's on startup. If the dash and dome lights started getting dim when the car is turned ON then yes I would suspect the alternator. The only thing I could think of is the starter draws quite a lot of power on startup and if the battery can't supply the juice it'll dim/flicker the lights.

 

Mine does this. I always thought it was normal.
