Default When braking somewhat hard, car makes click noise

I can reproduce it easily.

I go 5mph... brake somewhat hard to make the car tilt forward a bit. Do this again and again. Stop go stop go... each time the car's suspension compresses during the braking phase and as the car begins to level again... i hear this click or pop.

What could it be? It only recently started doing this.

Sounds like the pads shifting slightly in the calipers. Pull the pads out, and wedge some cut up business cards at the corners of the pad. If the noise stops, it's pad shift which is normal. There is clearance to allow for thermal expansion and corrosion.

Can you tell if it from the front or rear?

Can't really tell, but I think more front than rear and on passenger side.

This is NOT a normal clicking noise. Never happened before.

Well if this helps,i also had a popping sound from the front of my s2k when braking mostly when slowing down to stop.I even posted this noise on this forum.Well after weeks of this popping and trying solve the problem i found out what my noise was.It was my right front lower control arm cross caster adjusting bolt.Thats the bolt in the rear of the front lower control arm pointing down to the ground. This bolt has an offset collar or washer and a large bolt head and then another bolt going through.Well i recently did an alignment and when i did this i adjusted this bolt in such a manner that the collar came out of its proper adjusting range and got stuck on the outside of its recess after i tightened the lock bolt back.I was able to duplicate this noise on the alignment rack with a prybar. The noise was this adjusting bolt moving ever so slightly when the controllarm would move up or down.I adjusted it correctly now all is well!!This maybe you're problem good luck!!

If its from the rear, it could also be your spare tire comming loose.Check if its still tightly secured.
