Won't start No Dash lights
#11
Hey, just wanted to chime in to say this thread helped me diagnose a similar problem Paul was having. My car started periodically exhibiting the same symptom. My dash would light up and all of the electronics in the car seemed to be working and then I hit the start button which resulted in everything turning off. It happened 3x to me. My radio also reset in the process (i.e. lost all its presets) so I knew I had a power source problem but could not figure it out at first.
Before taking the car in for service, I searched here and found Paul's thread. In my case, it seems the battery terminal was not fully seated down on the terminal which I think may have caused it to have an intermittent connection. It looked and felt like a solid connection, but upon further inspection I don't think it was. I also cleaned up the terminal clamp as well before ensuring the connection to the terminal was good and strong. Fingers crossed my issue goes away for good now!
Gotta love forums like this! It's helped me avoid taking the car into the shop a couple of times over the years. Thanks guys!
