Electric Water pump
I hear you are losing around 10 HP from the water pump which at time will not really be used and will just be thrashing against a closed thermostat.
Has anyone installed one of these? If so how much, whats invloved and was there any gain?
Cheers, Lee.

Do a search. There are several threads talking about the subject.

there were no conclusions made on that link.. I'lll save everyone the time.. yes there MIGHT be a HP gain by switching to an electric pump.. but as of June 2004 no one had actually done it on an S2000

Although I admit it would be a nice modification, I would be very concerned about the reliability of an electric water pump. I had a an engine overheat once on a Corolla and it resulted in a leaky head gasket. That started a string of problems that eventually destroyed the engine. Now I am very reluctant to try something that might cause my engine to overheat.
Another problem is that nobody has tuned an electric water pump specifically for the S2000, so the first person that does this is taking a risk. If it isn't adjusted right, you could possibly end up with more problems. It also would void the warrantee.
