Damn these were so good . In fact when we got home we eventually found some Georgia peach ice cream and made our own.

The funny thing about Georgia peaches is that they really aren't that great tasting. On a road trip down south we stopped at a big peach farm in Georgia one year and their peaches were not that good. They looked great and were pretty good size, very firm, but tasted bland, they are often picked slightly green to help with shipping too. The really good tasting peaches are ones you get in Northern states and Provinces, they just taste better. Peach trees need about 1000 hours of cold weather rest below 40 degrees, peach varieties form cold weather locations taste better IMO.

I have a peach tree in my back yard, hoping for a good season if the squirrels don't attack the fruit.

Time for Rick's license renewal. The RMV (DMV in most other states) of MA does not get good grades for customer service and their web site is "generally" user friendly. BUT I had issues with it today. On line options for appointments. No walks ins accepted. Options that pertain to what he needed: Renew license...another upgrade to real ID. Well he needs/wants to do both. I'd hate to make him an appointment for license renewal and then find out they can't do the real ID unless a different appointment is made.

As of now, he has one appointment to renew his license, one to upgrade to real ID. I know he doesn't need two appointments but the choices weren't clear. I finally found a spot on line to select renew license and fill out the application for a real ID. After filling out the info, you are advised to make an appointment. I'm thinking the license renewal appointment is the appointment he needs and I should have started with license renewal option vs the option to make an appointment. I have his documents set aside.

AAA does the license renewal, real ID, but I'm the card carrying member. The only way I could make a second appointment without cancelling the first was to use a different email and phone number....

Thankfully, we are not last minute people so if he runs into a snag at the office of the RMV, he will have time to re-schedule the renewal.

Business with the RMV is always a reason to

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) online is very user-friendly. I still had some issues getting the Real ID, though. It was years ago but I didn't have some minor paper with me, since it wasn't asked for online, when I went to the appointment. Colorado is a mess, comparatively. They split up driver's licenses and registrations, to different departments and buildings. Bringing in a car bought out of state vehicle is a PITA. I had troubles with my 2017 NSX, from New York, and my sister and brother-in-law had trouble with their RAM truck from Idaho. My 2007 S2000 wasn't bad, though. It was already mine so I had to smog it and have the VIN verified to register it in CO which was much less than in California.

For once in the history of our Province the government actually makes a marvelous decision. They are getting rid of yearly automobile registration fees. We normally pay $120 to register plates each year on each vehicle. That is effectively gone. It was such a tax grab, so glad to see it gone. I can't believe they are doing it but I will take it and run. Two vehicles saves me $240 per year, plus I hate going to the motor vehicle registration locations in addition to giving them my money.

Do you have to undergo annual "safety" inspections or smog checks?

Your lucky. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting my car ready for Pebble Beach when I have it inspected.

Mass. Inspection isn't really bad, once a year $35.
