So sorry about the cat. It is so kind of you and Bea to look out for her needs despite the allergy situation. I've noticed that the no-kill shelters in this area often fill up and just cannot take any more animals. I always wonder what happens to the animals that need homes during all the times they're full!
Meanwhile Jim has decided to discuss the damage situation at our Va house with the agency that was supposed to be looking after our property, collecting the rent, investigating the renters, etc. He's made a demand and we'll see what happens. At this point I'm ready to just chalk it up to experience and move on. I just don't want the hassle.

Val if they physically removed parts of the household such as chandeliers etc, I would be discussing it with the police and have them busted for theft.
They may be far more likely to find money when facing criminal charges. You always maintain the ability to drop the charges.

Val, as much people do suck (as Legal Bill pointed out) I'd probably be in your shoes, and weighing the aggravation of dealing with it vs walking away. If Jim doesn't have any luck on the avenue he is pursuing walking away/less aggravation may be what works for you.

As far as small claims, I've taken people to small claims court several time on behalf of our office. We've had minimal success. Sure we win the case, but people seem to think it's not a big deal to ignore a court order to pay. When the ignore the court order to pay, and don't, the steps that follow to get your money are time consuming and the results are still not great.

Good luck!

From Bea's mom. No returns. The shot the vet gave her has stopped the loose pooping, and she seems to have settled down. Looks like we'll probably be keeping her. Oh, I bought a Litter Genie at our company store for $6.00, about 1/3 the retail price.

Bea's allergy symptoms settled down? Let me know how you like the litter genie. I think the litter locker had better reviews, but for the price you paid........

Bea's allergies seem to be better now. The Litter Genie is working well: no objectionable smells so far!

Yep, looks like she is joining the jukngene household. Now, we have to get her spayed. (There's another $500 or so. )

Gene, just watched the video on the Litter Genie. It looks just like the Litter Locker. I think the Litter Locker was out of Canada. There was another contraption for litter disposal out there too. I've been happy with the Litter Locker. Really cuts down on odors.

Glad Bea is feeling better and it looks like Daisy is a permanent resident of your home.

Now you know our little secret. Yes, the Litter Genie was originally from Canada, with the liners made by the same company that makes the liners for the Diaper Genie, but the Genie itself is made in Sidney, Ohio.
