I had hip pain last night that I think was from rowing. I get it periodically. Might be a bit of arthritis. I'm not a big believer in taking meds, but I did take Aleve earlier this morning. The pain is completely gone. Whatever works.

This is not that irritating, but recently I've been getting spam emails (some in my spam folder, some not) that have sort of legitimate subjects, but the email addies are really weird, have no relationship to the subject and make absolutely no sense. Anyone else notice this? I don't open them, just add them to my block spam file.

Lots of spam emails, at work. We are told, when in doubt, never open a link.

A TON of spam calls on my cell phone. Sometimes, I'm blocking two or three new calls, per day.

Not that bad...my nephew has been driving cross country from Seattle to his new job here. Wife and kids flying from Phoenix to arrive Thurs. He stopped in Chicago and saw his brother, then drove to Frederick, MD to spend last night. Headed here (Ashburn VA) this morning. I told him about the scenic Point of Rocks on Route 15, which is a nice back way to avoid the interstates. So he passed that. I suggested he take a really scenic route off Route 15 and down toward Waterford VA, which is a lovely historic town. Well, he got off 15, but the back way led him to a dirt road! Then back to 15. So he canned that idea. He will be living not far from Waterford, so they can go up there anytime. The other thing is the movers were supposed to arrive this afternoon, but the truck broke down, so may not be here until tomorrow. He has an air mattress to sleep on and needs to do some errands (DMV, cable company, etc) here anyway, so no big deal. May see him tomorrow. If not, will be Sat. He starts his new job Mon.

Color me clearly peaved.
This fall we replaced the double casement windows in our kitchen with Anderson 400 series units.
Really nice, not the big box store crap.
Our house interior trim is all wood stained. The color was originally some custom mix so it was hard to match.
The staining contractor spent an inordinate amount of time getting it just right.
Special subcoat to get the stain to take correctly etc.

So his guy applies it yesterday. The vendor directions for the stain say apply and wipe off excess.
Nope, just puts it on like paint. color is way too dark.....
not a happy camper to say the least.

He fiddled around today with mineral spirits and sandpaper and got a section to an marginal level of acceptance.
He basically had to completely strip it and do it over.
He has a long road ahead. Thank god the weather is still fairly warm so we can keep the windows open during the day.
Man o' man, this stuffs stinks.

thank goodness for fixed price contracts.
