Got another rant...
Ordered a gallon bottle of Meguiar's Gold Class car wash from Amazon on a 1/2 price deal. I came home yesterday to find a crumpled, soggy box sitting in a pile of goo on my front porch. The bottle was packed in an oversize box with no internal packaging. The box had obviously been dropped and the cap and seal on the bottle had broken and it was laying on its side. Spent 20 minutes in the cold and dark scrubbing the front porch and another 10 minutes salvaging what was left in the bottle and cleaning up the mess. I then went to the Amazon website and there was no direct contact information. I could request a return or refund, but when I did it required me to send it back. I was tempted to return it in the condition I found it in, but I'm too nice a guy for that. (Not to mention, I don't think UPS would have accepted it.) I had to cancel the return and spent another 10 minutes on Google researching a customer service phone number. Of course I got the Indian call center. Fortunately, the customer service representative was actually helpful and agreed that I should not send it back. They are sending out a replacement. Hopefully properly packaged.
Oh...and what happened to two day shipping with Prime? It works about 50% of the time for me.

UPS. They are getting pricey. Watch your invoices if you deal with them.
I bought 105" of a bronze cored bar. The company does not wrap the bronze in cardboard, the measurement is 105" for shipping. They generally do not send us "extra/free" bronze and they charged me for 105" at $X/pound.
UPS declared the shipment to be 110 x 3 x 3 charged me a fee of $150.00 for that audit adjustment, then added on a fee of $249.00 for exceeding maximum length. I called BS. The company assured me they shipped only 105" and even at that length it did not exceed the maximum UPS length. I've been purchasing this stuff for years and never had an issue.
What is UPS up to? Hmmm...Can't sneak this by me. I'm not paying $481.50 for material that costs $400.00 Oh yes, they also charged the original $82.50 for the shipment as listed. I waited on hold for about 15 minutes listening to bad music on the speaker phone. At first they said that we might have to prove the dimensions. I told her I could send a copy of the invoice, and that I only get the bronze I pay for. Another hold and the fees are reversed.............something is here. Is this how they generate more $, hoping someone is not paying attention? Excuse this sexist comment, but maybe they need to put a woman in charge of the auditing department. We tend to be more truthful when it comes to measurements. ....we don't see things bigger than what they are.

The +1's credit card got used by someone in the past couple of days to the tune of thousands of dollars. Some charges were denied. I was able in past experiences of mine (only two) to tie the usage to a particular place where I used the card. He has not been able to do that, except for a gas station. Anyhoo, he's getting a new card and USAA fraud peeps were on it right away. It's just a pain in the a-- because you have to change all the auto debit stuff.

Here's how a guy got his revenge for people trying to steal expensive Jeep parts from his porch.
