Don't forget to log in this morning. When I brought the site up, there were ads all over the place and the page was skipping around. Then I realized I wasn't logged in per Jason's instructions in the Announcement above. Whew...

So on 5/18 they came and replaced the floats and controls in my septic system.
i'm know thinking the floats were probably ok.
The system crapped out again this week ( pun intended.)
It appeared one of the floats was bad. but once in the tank it checked out ok.
Checking the junction box where the wiring goes into the house, the PVC pipe had been pulled away from the box by settling or who knows what.
quick visual inspection shows those damn little grey critters had gone into the pipe and chewed through the wires. grrrr

a few weeks ago we also had to replace wiring outside for the air conditioner controls.
Same issue.
I need a cat. I want a slightly domesticated bobcat.
that would be tough enough to stand up to coyotes and rid me of my critter problem.
I'm sure titan won't mind having someone to play with.

Not that big an issue for us, since we don't fly that much these days (although the +1 is flying this morning to WI on business), but for those of you traveling in/out of Reagan National the next couple of years, you will want to know about this. They are building two new security areas and closing lanes in front of the main terminal. Here are two advisories - more coming next year.

June 26: Periodic Nightly Closure of Terminal B/C Arrivals Roadway
  • Beginning Tuesday, June 26, sections of the Arrivals (lower-level) roadway used by private vehicles will close overnight (Midnight to 9 a.m.) as needed for work related to Project Journey
  • Private vehicles will follow detours through slip-ramps to access the Arrivals level private vehicle passenger pick-up zone.
June 21: Long-Term Lane Reduction to Impact Terminal B/C Roadway
  • Beginning on or about Thursday, June 21, the construction area along sections of the Arrivals (lower-level) roadway will expand — closing an additional lane.
  • Lane closures will be in place 24/7. Traffic congestion is expected.
  • Significant portions of the passenger pick-up median for private vehicles are blocked due to lane shifts.
  • Passengers are advised to use Metrorail or park free up to 60 minutes (began March 21) in Terminal Garages to avoid the work zone.

I guess if your Comcast/Xfinity service (internet, TV, phone) is down, you may not be able to post. Nationwide outage being reported - looks like two cables were cut. I have internet but no TV at the moment. Been down for almost two hours.
