Default 1000 hp at Elkhart Lake

I know we all think our S2000 are pretty fast but ... there is nothing like watching a video of a McLaren with 1000hp pounding the front straight at Elkhart Lake to shake off the early morning cobwebs.

Pretty awesome. A bunch of wonderful old iron. 185 on the long, front, uphill straight is really moving. His speed through Canada Corner beats the top motorcycle riders. The old Porsche 917s used to love that fast track too. Unfortunately, every time we go there - in early June - it rains.

Doesn't seem that long ago that the orange Mclaren's were tearing up Can-Am, nice video.

Lola's - could be. I honestly don't know my CanAm cars anymore.... too many years have past under the bridge to ID them on the fly. As John mentioned, from a spectators point of view, I love Canada Corner with beer and brat and vintage racers - it doesn't get any better unless you are one of them.

They definitely had the car dialed in very well for the track. The only time I saw the car upset was due to an overagressive turn in and recovery.

Oh wait - I can make my car do that too.

And at 1/2 that speed.

Yup , that guys driving a well setup car and knows what he's doing. I saw a few of these go at thunderhill awhile back and they are impressive..until I saw a lotus 11 simply drive around everyone in the corners and beat them all . The can-am cars were all over the place, sidways and fishtailing and all that power went up in blue smoke..what a show.

I watched an old fart named Stirling Moss drive a Lotus 11 at the Glen a few years ago.
