Default '12 Fall Pic's

Cindy and I(I think I'm old enough to post here) went on our fall colors drive this last weekend to the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The weather was just great(a little cold in the morning), we went on some very fun roads that the S was made for and the fall colors were pretty good. A little over 760 miles and a lot of smiles per mile.
Here are the pic's we took

p.s. Don't leave a camera with the WIFE!!!

Looks like a great trip. Enjoyed the first hundred or so...... But, I have a life. She has a good eye but needs to edit the number of photos. Just Kidding. Well, not really. Well, kinda. But a picture every mile, is on the extreme side. Still, great stuff.

Thank you for sharing your files, Rod. I recognize some of the area, like Mammoth Lakes and Mono Lake. I went to Bishop last October and have considering a trip this month up that way.

Nice area, nice pics. Dramatic scenery. However as mountains go, I still love our GREEN mountains in New England better than any other area.

What's this thing you call Fall? And why are you wearing jackets and hats, it's only early October. Cripes I can't wait for it to cool down here so I can enjoy the car with the top off. Looks like you had a great time. I'm just jealous.

Where he lives it's still hot (Sacramento). He was in the mountains and high country in California to find that cool air. I live in So Cal buy my daughter works in Sacramento so I keep track of her weather too.

See that is nice, he can get to cooler (and dryer) weather without too much effort. I pretty much still have to drive out of the state this time of year, and when you live in South Florida that is one lone drive.

DaleJH66, California has just about every kind of weather you can ask for since we have such diverse topography: Beaches, mountains (wet and dry), deserts, the highest spot, the lowest spot. We don't really have the equivalent of your Florida heat/humidity but that's okay.

I live north of you and the maple trees, elm tress, and tulip trees in my yard have started turning. I admitt it is not the same with out the cool weather as when I drive up to north Georgia the end of October. I would have loved to done the Dragon this weekend; I figure that North Carolina should be pretty much in full color and for sure on Mt Mitchell.

We have friends that just moved into the house they built on Black Mountain with a view of Mt. Mitchell. We are planning on driving the S2000 up there later this month. It was supposed to be mid month but due to delays at work it won't be until a week later. I'm hoping there will still be leaves on the trees.
