Default 24 Hours of LeMans

The scene of historic battles will begin once again this coming weekend. There are two great contests this year. The fight for GT1 class supremacy will be between five time LeMans factory-backed winner Corvette against four Aston Martin DBR9s (two of which are factory-backed). Overall action is between the all-conquering factory-backed turbo-diesel Audi R8s and the factory-entered turbo-diesel Peugeot 908s (who the odds makers favor this year).

My recorder is already set!! Here's Speed channel's schedule:

"SPEED will televise the start of the race live on June 14 from 8:30 a.m. EDT to 12 p.m. EDT, and the finish from 9 p.m. EDT on June 14 to 9:30 a.m. EDT on June 15. The 24 Hours of Le Mans starts at 3 p.m. local time (9 a.m. EDT) on Saturday, June 14 and finishes at 3 p.m. (9 a.m. EDT) on Sunday, June 15."

Thanks for the heads up

I'll probably tune in to watch some of it.

Always a good, competitive race, especially when the weather "goes south".

I really wish they could run it in February when I could be an inert twit and not feel guilty about the gorgeous weather.

I especially liked it when it was truly a 24 hour TV coverage before the corporate bastards from fox bought them and turned it into the left turn network.

The Peugeot set a record for fast lap on the current track layout today besting the Audi R10's by almost 7 seconds.

I'll be flipping back and forth as the U.S. Open is this week end but I am not sure of the times. Thanks for the update.

Fits in perfectly I am picking up my wife from the hospital tonight and she has to have someone around for the next few weeks, so I can fire up the old Plasma and get my fill

A friend of mine is having a graduation party tomorrow (doctorate), so that takes precedence.

And then on Sunday I will be prepping my own car for a track day, which again takes precedence over watching other people drive their cars. I have a new set of brake pads to install, and I need to reinstall my datalogger.

Also note that "9am EDT" means 0600 Sunday morning out here.

What I love about my Comcast DVR is it holds 80 hours, so LeMans is no big deal.
