Maybe come home with a strong breath of Cabernet. Thanks Napa!

Going with friends to the Colorado-small-town-traditional 4th of July parade. Fireworks start at dusk, but we can see the simultaneous fireworks displays of three towns from our second floor, if we choose. We have a redneck neighbor who shoots off his own bottle rockets, sometimes landing on our place. This year that could be more dangerous - the woods are so dry...

The 4th will be the two week anniversary of my 2nd hip replacement. Not feeling very mobile. My wife will spend the afternoon and evening with her family. If it is not too hot, (unlikely), I might grill a hot dog and have some potato salad by myself on the deck. May watch the 4th celebration from Washington on TV.

We had a good run of a couple of years where we would go out to Slows2k's house as his area tended to be quite lively. He had a neighbor who spared no expense letting off fair amount of fireworks to keep the entire neighborhood entertained for a good hour or more... He has moved so now I have reverted to just sitting outside in the dark with an adult beverage and a cigar and I just listen to them go off all around me in the distance. Sometimes one will go up high enough to where I can see it. I anticipate that to start tonight actually.

Happy 4th, Y'all! Have a safe and fun day. Another advantage to living in our condo is that, not only do we see the fireworks at the Wash Monument (hoping smoke does not obscure them tonight), but also many on the horizon from other shows.

We ate the ribs...they were really good! Very tender and we liked the sauce, too. The +1 ran his race. We are now people watching for the next few hours. Walking and trying to find anywhere to park, all of which is long since taken.
