9 11 Always Remember/Never Forget

I can certainly never forget for several reasons, the main one seeing the Pentagon as a reminder every day from my condo. I watched the firefighters fighting the blazes there and the reconstruction of the wall where the plane hit. Seems like yesterday.

I remember it like it was this morning.

I was at work. I clearly remember hearing about it and watching in dis-belief as the events of the day unfolded. It was hard to get info from the internet at times....major "traffic jam" slowed things down. My father was still alive then. He was in WWII, and he was most upset by the events of that day, truly fearing what may transpire next.
In our small town, we have a piece of one of the steel buildings from the Trade center which was made into a memorial. A daily reminder.

I remember it like it was this morning as well. Here is the short version of the story.
According to MD Rocket and his +1 (Vera) who's best friend was a flight attendant on my flight on a 767 that had problems with the rudder so we never got off the ground. I was on the fifth airplane. When the FBI reviewed the manifest of my flight they determined that and her friend quit Unitied on that day.

I watched it unfold, mourned with the rest of the nation, and then lived the aftermath every single day of my life for four or five years. In a sense, it defined me.

It literally, physically, emotionally, economically, spiritually changed my life trajectory and retirement forever.
Objectively speaking.

Thanks Cos. Bill, like you I watched it unfold. I was at home alone, the wife called at the very beginning and said turn on the TV. I watched as it played out live. It did not impact me personally as much as I am sure it did some here. I am thankful that we as a country are resilient and have proved it time and time again.
