Default Adjustable bed frames

My wife is looking for a new mattress. 4th of July sales. Our local store has a Serta firm pillow top mattress she really likes. She is considering spending $800 more for an adjustable bed frame, primarily for reading in bed which she does every night, plus it may alleviate some acid reflex and back issues.

Online they say that warranty coverage is the best way to judge construction. The store manager tossed out a lot about warranty coverage which I will need in writing if we go that route.

Anyone have advice or experience with them. I know TemperPedic has offered adjustable for years and I am told made big advances in making them more reliable. Same store sells them too.

We had a Sleep number bed with an adjustable head. The unit was split so the wife could be raised and I could be flat or the other way around. It was very convenient but we found the split sheets were ridiculously expensive.

We bit the bullet and got an adjustable frame. Good grief, our new Serta pillow top mattress is 17" thick.

He may also need some protection so he doesn't fall out of bed. Yes, bumpers!

I can't throw stones about falling out of bed.
I've done it a few times in the last year.

LOL. I asked the store manager if they had a slide for our dog. I don't want her to break a leg jumping off.

PS You would think you would only need a 17" mattress if you were running a cat house.
