Helios-- I forgot the ownership cost concerns you mentioned. The Vette didn't seem any more to maintain than our car; the requirements were just normal Chevrolet.

My exhaust is by Neuspeed. Very quiet at low speed operaton, and if you're standing on it it's quiet until the vtec switches in. Then you wouldn't know I even had mufflers.

My favorite is to light the mufflers up for about a half second in second gear. People snap their heads, but can't figure out which car was responsible. Neither can the cops. :-)

Oh, let me add. With the Neuspeeds, I can rev it to red line if I'm not moving and they are still quiet. They only bark under load.

Couldn't you picture the scenario? "I'm ticketing you for excessive noise." "Wasn't me, officer." "Oh no? Rev up your engine." <revving> "Hmmmm, guess it t'weren't you."

:-)

> Gerry, great info. Is that a dual system or single? I got single for weight savings and the modest HP gain a single gives over a dual.

Dual. Neuspeeds were on the car when I bought it.

Bill,
If you can wait until FC you should be able to see almost all exhausts.
The ones that I know of Neuspeed, HKS, Supersprint, Spugen, but I am sure there will be plenty others.
Now if you are like me and want to mod the car before FC (new BBS wheels and tires) then you have to decide from pix and sound bites if you can find them.

Thanks Zippy. As I explain in the linked threads, I already have the Spugen single. I really like it, except for the resonance. I think I cured that tonight. My newest baffle is a 2 and 1/4 inch reduction adapter. Outside diameter of the big end is just under 2 and 1/2 inches and fits snugly into the tip. The small end is 1 and 3/4 inches outside diameter. It is about 4 or 5 inches long and cost $1.99. I had to weld a nut on it so I could install a set screw to hold it into the tip. So far, it sound good. Not too quiet, but it kills over 50% of the resonance. It will come out in about 10 seconds with a screwdriver and a wrench. I consider this my "B" series proto-type. If it works this weekend, I'll look for a stainless steel reducer.

One observation: My engine idle speed seems to have increased by one or two hundred RPM.
