almost 17 great years but time to say good bye.

Jerry, this thread is almost a day old. What car are you looking at now?
Good luck with this one. It looks like a keepah. Don't worry about the tires. They'll keep making them for you.

It is a 2016 Mercedes AMG GT-S with 9400 miles on the Odometer. Technically I'm not looking, since I have it under deposit.
Go back to the first post and see all of the good pics and stuff.
I checked out the VMI report today which is mercedes internal database for service work executed by their dealer network.
Technically the VMI is not available to the public but there are ways.
It sounds like it had some early ignition/fuel issues which were worked out in the first three thousand miles.
it has had two annual services so far at only 9400 miles. It sounds like there might be another two pre-paid services available.
Sadly I don't think I'll get the funds cleared until Wednesday. sigh. Shuffling summer cars in the winter always sucks.
But it's only coming home and going straight into the garage anyways until spring/ warmer temps.
And for the record Bill, It's not a stick. It's got paddles shifters with a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox.
You can run it in fully auto comfort ( hah) Sport mode which activates the load button or Sport+, Manual or Race with Launch control.
Suspension has 3 modes as well. eye boggler, kidney buster or my favorite, dental prep.
There is one feature sorely lacking that my S63 has; a heads up display.
The LED blinky tach thing is conveniently hidden behind the steering wheel.
There is the real tach but it's obscured as well. at least where I like the wheel.
Slamming off of the rev limiter shows up real early in first... and second.... and third.. you get the idea.
Motor trend has a nice article too.

And after reading Patty's post I detect your sarcasm. i'm an engineer whaddayawant...
I have been told in fairly certain terms " this is it." and I don't think she was referring to Kenny Loggins
The last few years have been fun since we're finally at a point where some of these things have become within reach.
retirement and downsizing will be on the near horizon soon enough.
it's sort of like showing up to a great party as everyone else is leaving.
